Lost Car Key Replacement
If you lose your car keys, calling a locksmith is probably your only option. Depending on the year make and model of your car, we can help.
When a key is lost or stolen you will need a local locksmith to cut and program new transponder keys. We offer this service to you. One of our good locksmiths will come to you, cut and program new keys.
We will even help with the keyless entry if we can.
What Is a Transponder Key?
There are two types of keys. There are programmed keys and non-programmed keys. If you have a non-programmed key it will unlock the door and turn in the ignition cylinder but it will not start. The transponder key is a key to start the vehicle.
Almost every car key uses transponders in order to start vehicles. You will know, if you put a non-transponder key into the ignition and it does not start. It is not a programmed key.
If I Get a Replacement Key, Will The Old Key Still Work?
Replacing car keys will usually erase all other keys not present at that time. Key fobs can also be erased at that time. If a key worked and is erased it can usually be added back into the car.
What If I Only Lost One Key? How Do I Get Spare Keys?
There are many types of car keys and while it is hard to keep every key in stock, we try. If we do not have your key in stock we can usually have it in a day or two.
